Hull City in the Prem
Hull City match reports

About

This blog is maintained as personal record of what it’s like to follow Hull City in their first season of the premiership.

When it was first devised, I had no idea we would get off to such a flying start and it’s so useful to have a perspective on that time we thought we would be depending on the odd glimmer of greatness from Dean Windass to edge a draw at home to Bolton to provide us with a highlight for the season.

Honestly, most Hull fans were just hoping that we wouldn’t show ourselves up too much and not spend all the tv money…

Taking each day and each result as it happens!

About me?

Technically I’m a Hull City gloryseeker as I’ve only been following them for about 6 years.  This was the first season at the KC when we were waaaay down the divisions.

I didn’t start supporting them because of the shiny new stadium, this was pure coincidence.  I started going to matches with my boyfriend and his dad (long term supporters) and I think the 1st game I saw was the pre-season drubbing of Leeds (who had been in the Champions League the season before).  Heard the chant:  “Are you Scunthorpe?  Can we play you every week?” and was hooked.

Hull City is the first football club I’ve “properly” supported.  Growing up in Nottingham in the 70s and 80s I was lucky enough to see at close hand what it’s like when an unfashionable club reaches the dizzy heights, but I never really cared about Forest’s results like I do about Hull City’s.

I’d love other City fans to participate and share their impressions and memories, so if you would like a log in to post on this blog, or maybe recommend a blog to link to, just fill in the comment box (won’t publish my email address due to nasty spammers…)
